Trial Policy

PELHAM SADDLERY SADDLE TRIAL POLICY

The professionals at Pelham Saddlery understand the need to try a saddle on your horse to verify proper fit and to ride in the saddle to determine comfort and correctness. To allow this accommodation with new as well as used and demo saddles, it is important to us that you assume responsibility for the saddle's condition and safe-keeping. The amount of saddle use allowed varies with new, used and demo saddles and is detailed in the following paragraphs.

TRIAL PERIOD AND PAYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • We need to take a credit card authorization for the full amount of the saddle(s) that you are taking out for trial. This will secure the funds on your card and affect your available credit limit. The authorization can take up to three weeks to drop off from your bank. Therefore we DO NOT recommend using a debit/ATM card. This however will not show up on your monthly statement unless you do not return the saddles at the end of your trial period. You are responsible for return shipping.
    All shipping & handling charges will be billed separately and are non-refundable.

  • You will have to sign for the package, so please provide us with an address where someone can be there to sign. If UPS makes attempts to deliver the package when you are not home, they will leave a note. You may then make arrangements to pick up the package from a UPS distribution center.

  • All saddles requested on our web-site are automatically set up as a trial, not a purchase. (With the exception of a few saddles that give you the "Purchase Now" option) We make every attempt to have our web site current, but in the event that a saddle has recently sold and is not off the web yet, we will let you know via email or phone #. If the saddle is already currently on trial with another customer, you will be contacted via email or phone and listed as the next person to try the saddle. When the saddle is back in our store available for trial, we will notify you of its arrival and place the saddle on hold in your behalf for 24 hours.

  • The customer is responsible for insured freight to and from Pelham Saddlery. Freight is not refundable. Shipping to you is $55 for one saddle or $75 for two saddles shipped within the same shipment.

  • Pelham Saddlery now offers return label services on trial saddles.

    The attached return shipping label has been provided for your convenience.

    If you use the label, your account will be charged either $55 for one saddle or $75 for two saddles. If you do NOT use the label, your account will not be charged.

    To use the shipping label, please follow the return shipping instructions:
  • To activate your return label, contact Pelham Saddlery at (603) 635-1263 or info@pelhamsaddlery.net
  • Pack the saddle as it was when you received it
  • Note: This is not a call tag, and cannot be used as one. This means you cannot call UPS to schedule a pickup at your home.

    Once the box is sealed and labeled for return shipping, you can:
  • Drop the package off at your local UPS facility
  • Give it to your local UPS driver at a stop on his/her regular route
  • Bring to your place of business if UPS is your designated carrier or makes stops at you place of business.
  • Packages should never be left unattended! Until they are in transit, they are not insured and are the responsibility of the customer.

  • The customer has 7 days upon receipt of the saddle to determine whether or not he or she is keeping the saddle. The seven day trial begins the day you receive the saddle via pick up at the store or the day it arrives at your shipping address if shipped, not the day it mails from our store. By the seventh day, you must provide us with a tracking # if the saddle is shipping back, or have the saddle physically back in the store if you are hand delivering it to our store. This means you have a full seven day trial to test the saddle and evaluate the fit for you and your horse, even if you live thousands of miles away from our store.

  • The customers account will only be charged if the saddle is not returned and we were not notified with a tracking # in the time specified (shipping time [when applicable] + seven days). Any saddle returned after the 7-day trial period will be eligible for an in store credit only. If the saddle is not returned in the same condition that it left the store, there will be additional charges which are outlined in the section below.

LIMITATIONS ON SADDLE WEAR:

NEW SADDLES

  • On new saddles we ask that you wrap your stirrup leathers with tube socks or another soft material, please no vetrap! Wear short riding boots( no chaps or 1/2 chaps and please do not put leathers through the keepers contain them within the tube sock) .

  • Saddles returned with excessive wear are subject to usage surcharges.

DEMO SADDLES

  • The same rules as for new saddles apply to demo saddles.
USED SADDLES
  • If it is a used saddle please take caution as it must be returned in the same shape as it left us or there will be a surcharge for damages. We understand that the saddles will be girthed and expect to see billet marks.
USAGE SURCHARGES:
  • Any saddle returned with excessive wear on the flaps, scratches in the leather or dings in the pommel, cantle or elsewhere will automatically be assessed a minimal 10% surcharge of the saddle value.

Saddle Trial Request

To trial any new or used saddle from Pelham-Saddlery.com please put the saddle in your shopping card and check out of the store.

Your credit card will be charged only the shipping charges for the saddle(s). You make take up to three saddles out on trial at a time. Your card will be authorized for the amount of the saddles but not charged.
